Birthdays come every year but only once a year!

#1 Post by SbDrakos »

Roger,

I remember all those times you said you're retiring and I said 'No you're not.'
Well I'm very grateful I was right and you were wrong.
Actually I think you didn't retire because people kept asking you for help.
I don't think you ever say 'no', you just 'do'.

Over the course of this year and all other years you've been a great friend and help.
And this year I thank you especially for taking over parts of the projects and making things easier to manage overall.

You make it easy to be on a team.
You're always there ready to jump on the computer and solve problems.
You're always there with answers and ideas.
You are a central point to our community and your forum is our hub.
Thank you for your time and dedication over the years.

And so my friend, it with great pleasure that I wish you a very very Happy Birthday!

With all my thanks.

Bobby

Well, I'm sorry I missed the actual day.

But I hope you had a great birthday!
Thanks for all your help and I hope to speak to you sometime soon, perhaps about something other than work for a change...

I actually wanted to write something yesterday too.

Roger, I wish you the very best for your birthday and I am very proud and happy that we met and became friends. I also think it's just great that you haven't retired yet. 8)

But I really regret that we haven't seen each other for so long. It would be nice if we could do that again.
Best regards,
Tom

"No."
"Okay, give me a second chance."

Thanks to all for the greetings.

I still enjoy working and I miss our gatherings.

I hope to be still doing this in 2026 (40 years since I started with Clipper), but the future is not ours to see. Que Sera, Sera.

Roger, I'm a bunch of days late, but, that's retirement for ya. I'm glad to see you still providing key, core functionality and consulting for the xBase++ community.. I know I never could have gotten my company to the level it achieved without your help.

I see where everyone is glad you haven't retired.. I'm happy for you that you haven''t and happier for me that I have... I was toast. There are pluses and minuses to retirement... I'll enjoy the pluses and ignore the minuses as long as I can. As long as the body can move forward, forward I go..

All the best..
and all the best to the rest of the community..
