Is there an internal tool for archiving in Alaska?
Is there an internal tool for archiving in Alaska? I would like to minimize traffic with the web-server system. For this, I would archive the files before writing, and when reading unzipped. External archivers do not want to use.

a.) AddZip Wrapper available from the Alaska Software website in the Download/ASCN section. Need PkWare DLL
b.) XbZLib Wrapper from Andreas Gehrs-Pahl found in Alaska Newsforum or at Pablos Website http://www.xbwin.com based on ZLib http://www.zlib.org
c.) since XP you have "internal" ZIP.
you can use it with Xbase++ to unzip/zip files with Windows API CopyHere

I though the adzip/bdzip wrappers were to a new defunct company's addzip.dll/addunzip.dll. You mentioned pkware.dll. Do those wrappers also support that dll.

Thanks, but unfortunately my name and password that I was given the Alaska, are not appropriate for FTP. The eye sees, but the tooth will not nibbleCliff Wiernik wrote:This link will get you to the ACSN

Newsgroup do not have a Link. you can't access it via HTTP or FTP.Eugene Lutsenko wrote:Can't find anything. And You don't have a direct link?
News Reader like Mozilla Thinderbird use NTP Protokoll
but even if you got the Source, it is only a Xbase++ Wrapper !
you still need compression DLL/LIB.
i do not know if PkWare still exist or where you can buy it now
Zlib is free
