Using Windows Server Task Scheduler

Roger,

Not sure if anybody else uses this, but when we set up tasks on users scheduler to run at night, even though the exe has returns or quit when done the scheduler says it still running..so apparently never really closes. If we run it normally it does.

Just seeing if anybody else has run across this and has a solution.

Windows server 8 and 12.

Hi,

I have the same issue on a server. I have a task which starts and quits when done. It remains in the task list. When we start it manually it disappears from the task list.

Can you post your suggestions you are going to try? Maybe I can try it also.

We changed the set up on the scheduler to stop it after 4 hours..it normally does not take over an hour, so that was very safe. It performs multiple nightime tasks at 205 am..they restart their server every night around 2am. This morning it showed READY, so it did stop. No longer showing on task list.
