Roger,
This is not really within the subject matter here, but we are looking for method to move our support, currently our own xbase app with email, to our web page.
Just wanted to see if you or anybody listening has done this and has suggestions where to start, or if there is a good, easy app that will do this.
We have started by using wamp server (for local testing) and php, which is a whole new learning curve. Our web service only uses accepted sql servers, unless we go the text file route
Thanks for any input.
Fred

Your question is confusing.
Are you saying that you want to put your app onto a webpage?

No, not our app itself. We have our own app to handle our customer support logs that we want to move to our web page. Any problems, errors, questions, etc are emailed to us, we log it and respond. Moving this logic to the web will make us more visible for search engines (due to traffic) and will allow us to handle these outside our office, while traveling, etc. We would link our main app help to the web instead of creating an email. Would have to keep both for a while. We have looked at off the shelf but its either way too complicated to set up and use, or wants to load on our server, not our web page.
Basically, a user login page, then the user could add a request, view old requests,etc...and it would send the info to us on a regular basis, or as an email.
We can either do it ourselves, or pay for somebody to do it, or buy something that would work.
Hope that is better explanation
Fred

Have you thought of using phpbb ?
It is a support forum and is searched via Google.

Hello,
you have to google for a ticketing system. Here you can handle customer requests with an special workflow behind. I am also just looking for such a software, just trying osticket.

Hi,
you can also check
www.eticketsupport.com. We installed this for a customer a few years ago. They are still using it, they never had any problem with it.
